Dr. Walter Johnson Presents at the 2019 ENVI Analytics Symposium
Dr. Walter Johnson, Executive Director of the Rochester Data Science Consortium, presented at the 2019 ENVI Analytics Symposium (EAS), hosted, this year, at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Denver, CO.
Dr. Johnson presented on the model of the RDSC, and detailed the Consortium’s unique position, and purpose, within the growing field of data science.
EAS (August 13th–15th), administered by L3Harris, provides a venue for geospatial data users, analysts, scientists, and vendors to converge and discuss the future of the industry, learn best practices for using analytics and ENVI, hear details of successful real-world analytical applications, and test products, improve technical skills, and gain new analysis techniques.
The conference also featured informative lectures, workshops, and demos on geospatial data analytics from leaders at AWS, Esri, L3Harris, Planet, Airbus, US Army, and more, plus a keynote address from Dr. Rachel MK Headley, CEO of Rose Group International.
The theme of this year’s 2019 EAS was “Connect. Explore. Transform.”
RDSC: A New Way to Move Forward in Data Analytics
The Rochester Data Science Consortium is a New York state funded organization founded by the University of Rochester and the Harris Corporation to help NY companies to better use data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence in their businesses. The model behind it is unique: We have a full-time staff of PhD data scientists with broad commercial experience who collaborate with regional institutions to understand and solve their most challenging big and little data science problems. Our scientists work full time on the analytical challenges faced by our members, from geospatial to retail to healthcare and more.
The ENVI Analytics Symposium provides the leading thought leadership venue for participants to connect with decision-makers from across the geo-spatial analytics community, explore new trends and ideas and transform this fast-growing and dynamic technology ecosystem.
